Mopar people like family…..
ByPlease bear with me this is a bit of a story. Last summer I was trying to find the source of a rattle under my car so I arranged to have a friend drive beside me and listen for the rattle. He thought he had an idea so we pulled over and crawled under the car to look around. Just then a car pulled up in front of mine and someone got out so I got up to see what was happening. This guy had stopped when he saw my car and asked if i didn’t mind if he looked at it.I told him no problem and we started talking. He told me he was in the armed forces and that he and his son were going to start working on his son’s 68 Barracuda in a couple of weeks when his son got back from Afghanistan. He was pretty pumped and said his son just couldn’t wait. Two weeks later I read in the newspaper where his son was killed in the line of duty.
Tonite I went to our local Mopar meeting and who was there but the Father who I met last year. Well our Mopar association has supplied him with a completely built engine for his (son’s) car as well as all help he needs to complete the build with other donations from dealerships, etc. They have secured a spot for him to display his project at the upcoming World of Wheels next to our Manitoba Mopar Association display. After talking to him tonite,It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. That’s Mopar family!!8)
