I needed to remove a broken stud in a slant six aluminum intake. The one inboard of the carb that bolts to the exhaust manifold. It was broken clean off on the bottom and someone had used a stud instead of a bolt so I flush cut the threads off. Then I started drilling with my portable Craftsman drill press. Low and behold right at the end the damn stud came out on the drill bit. The crazy part, it's like exactly centered on the bit, I mean I don't think a machine shop could have done better....
