good welder q’s

i’ll be welding up a turbo header, sub frame connectors, "general body repair" ie rusted out rocker panels, front safe-t caps for the front subframe rails, etc…. and was wonder waht is a good fairly cheap welder, I can score a clarke welder ( not sure which one, but i’m betting from the description its a clarke 180EN, waiting for an e-mail back from the guy) for dirt cheap, waht about the chicago electric (yes the ones that harbor freight sells) are they any good ? any one have first hand experience with either Clarke or Chicago Electric ?
