1 John 4:4.....

"Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world."NKJV

September has arrived bringing with it football and ushering in fall. This brings to mind one of my favorite football stories. I'm not sure this is exactly how the story happened but Knute Rockne from Notre Dame is a legend that has lasted the test of time.

During the Roaring 1920's as Notre Dame was preparing to play the University of Southern California - USC - in college football; Fighting Irish coach Knute Rockne was aware that his opponent had a far better team, so he devised a plan to intimidate the Trojan players.

Rockne scoured Northern Indiana up to Chicago and hand-picked 100 of the largest men he could find --- each was well over six feet and weighed more than 250 pounds. He put them in Fighting Irish uniforms and at game time marched them onto the field ahead of the real team. (Before the days of eligibility restrictions!)

As USC watched these fake giant football players line up on the sidelines, they forgot about their talent, undefeated record and confidence. They began mentally preparing themselves to lose.

None of the specially recruited men played during the game, their presence on the sidelines was enough to knock USC off their game plan. Knute Rockne's trick had worked; he had intimidated the USC Trojan players into giving up before the game even started --- Notre Dame easily won.

Reminds me of the adversary I face each day. Satan tries similar tricks to intimidate me. One such trick is to appear larger than life when I face a problem --- but I must remember that he has been defeated by Jesus before I began my day.

My job is to walk in the confidence of Jesus Christ and not be overwhelmed by the intimidation of the enemy.

Prayer: Father thank you that you are greater than any intimidation the evil one can throw my way. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

this is my '71 Road Runner, I owned about 12 years ago, it only had a couple of options A/C and an auto.trans, it was numbers matching and the motor and trans.that were built to stock specs. I added the '70 "Go Wing",front spoilers, strobe stripe, 15x8" & 15x7" steels and a 3.55 sure grip rear, this was my daily driver.

I have an unusual story about it, if anyone has seen the movie: "Payback" starring Mel Gibson, you'll know what I mean, anyways in the movie his girlfriend drives a '69 Road Runner, in one of the scenes she drives up and honks the horn "Beep-beep", well the horn in the car didn't work, and they figured they would add it in post production, well the audio engineer figured they would just add a regular horn, but the director "insisted" they use an original Road Runner horn, and it was up to the audio engineer to find it!
well he scanned the local classifieds and managed to find a '69 (owned by a friend of mine) he called him and found out it didn't even have a horn!, he asked my buddy if he knew of anybody that might have a working one locally, thats where I come in, (mine did work) he called me and I was 5 miles from the studio, the guy was there 10 minutes after he hung up, he had me honk it 6 times in different durations, and recorded it, he gave $60.00 (that was all the cash he had on him!), I would have done it for free, cause it was kinda cool, even though the movie didn't do very well, everytime I see that movie it gets to that scene and I laugh!....thats me in a Mel Gibson movie!!

Hey guy's,My bud is a hardcore Mopar guy but has a 91 Camaro(305 tuned port) left to him when his Brother past do to Cancer. Time has past and he has now decided to Paint the car and get it on the road.
It was very well taken care of by his brother but It's had a history of this starting one day then not the next.
The car has a new and properly adjusted ignition switch and New batt. We cleaned all the grounds and wire connectors.
When you hit the key nothing happens at all,the Batt has 12 volts and holds steady when hitting the key...
I have 12 volts at the solenoid when hitting the key as well as on the main power wire to the solenoid. So I thought I had a worn out Solenoid...Heres the kicker, I jumped the posts and the car started right up....Let it run for 10 min or so and shut it down, hit the key and it started back up so I tried it a few more times it worked fine..I tried it in park and neutral and then it wouldn't start..So I thought it was the Neutral safety switch but it's fine, now the car will not turn over again. We have tried the old tap the starter with a hammer trick but it's never helped.Any suggestions?

I just got my 1965 plymouth fury running and discovered it has a busted heater core. The car has air. It looks like the dash may have to come out, but not sure. I figure while I am in there doing the heater core I may as well change the evaporator or what ever that part is called that the a\c lines hook to under the dash. Any how I have never ever pulled one of these dashes or attempted to change a heater core. But, I do want to do this one my self. I have looked and looked on line for the proceedures but to no avail. Has any one on here ever done this and can you give me some tips as how to do it? Also, my heater core actually has 4 hose connections. Does this mean it has 2 heater cores or one great big one? The engine hoses has a hose going to each pair of core connections with a jumper hose running between the pairs of hose fittings or heater cores. I have never seen this setup before.

Any info will be appreciated
Thank you
I recently purchased a 70 Road Runner 440 picked it up way cheap, however the guy i bought it from messed up the ignition somehow now it doesn't start. it cranks,I hear the fuel pump lick on and its pumping fuel. my question is there is a gob of wires under neath as this car is a drag car for sure. I am thinking about pulling out all the wires and get a new wire kit and start from step one. Have any of you done this before. here is whats in there now... MSD 6al ,, Msd rpm module selector, MSD two step module selector and a crossover delay timer... what are these. I am new to the racing scene and never heard of them so maybe I should keep em or toss em.. thank you

My brother and I just attended a local race last weekend after not seeing one in a long time and we ended up talking to a racer in the pits about his car. After playing around with occasional drag racing, this looks like a lot more fun. Anyhow, we looked into the rules, and it doesn't seem that complicated, as we can fabricate and build, however we're wondering what a good chassis would be to start. We're as far North as Wissota runs, so that's the rules we'll have to meet. I know that buying someone else's used car is probably the cheapest way into this, however all that's being run locally ar GM metric chassis, and all the extra parts we have are 318 and 360 mopar and related.

Basically, we're limited to a wheelbase of 110 or longer if we run a uni-body, so that rules out a '70 Duster that I was parting out anyway... What's the "better" choice in chassis? A-body Dart with 111" wheelbase, F-M-J body with 112" wheelbase, or late B-body with 115" wheelbase? I have fairly solid '78 Magnum shell, or have a 1966 Dart at 111" wheelbase. We have plenty of early A-body parts, so this one is what I'm leaning towards.

Any tips or pointers? This might turn into a winter project for next summer.

I know this is an A-Body question but I just found an original 383 4 spd 69 Barracuda in some guys driveway today, the fifth digit is an "H" no motor or tranny in it, no hood on it, tons of miles plenty of rust. I didn't inquire any further than just looking at it, I only have about 100 bucks in the bank. Anyway, does anybody know how many 383 4 spd 69 cudas were made? I think at one time it was black and has a weird half vinyl roof. Thanks.

After some research, I've noticed that if full flanged Ford small block headers are finely centered against a 318 poly head, the two inside runners will be too wide by .040" each, forcing the two outside runners to be off by .080". So if a section .080" wide is cut from the center of the flange, and then the flange pushed back together and welded, the two inside runners will be a match leaving the two outside runners just .040" off each, which could be fixed with mild runner matching.

Then, if the flange is wide enough, or extra material is welded on, the flange could be drilled for the mopar bolt pattern (which is different).

If one already has the ford headers, and clearance (starter, steering, etc.) is not a problem, it seems like a cheap way to get headers for the 318 poly. Anyone disagree, or has anyone tried this? Thanks!

Hey I was wondering if anyone has had any expeirence (fit, quality etc)with the MAS fiberglass lift of/ six pack hoods. I have heard good and bad so I dont know. That company went out of business but there supplier is still making them and seem to be a reasonable priced option to the 6-7 hundred doller hoods. Anyone ?? Also I need a new hinge for my 1969 project as after much frustration not getting the door and front fender to not rub only to discover someone had put a passenger door hing in place of a driver door hinge. So I ordered a driver side one off e-bay and the guy sent me another passenger door hinge  he said they look the same to me, yep they do only one has the pin going up and one going down. Does any one know if I take out the pin and put it i going the other way will this work? Or any body have an extra hinge out there in b-body land the one in the pic is the one I need? Thanks for reading my post!

Hello All,
I Need new tires for a 69 Coronet 4 door, I have a set of 14" Cragar S/S's, 14x5 in the front and 14x8 in the back. What is the biggest size of tire I could run in the rear without rubbing concerns? I've found tons of info on the 2 door versions but cannot find squat on a 4 door. Would assume it's going to be similar but it has a lower wheel well opening. Biggest tire I've found that is reasonable is a 215/60/R14. Could move up to 15" rims and have better options but trying to keep this low buck as possible.

Thanks all!

Cole

I have a 62 Dodge Dart 330 /6, auto. I have just replaced the
alternator due to dying battery all the time.
Tried the old trick of removing the positive cable to the battery
and the car dies with a new alternator installed.
Does anybody have a clue what else it could be?
Any help would be grateful.
