Devo for June 29 ~ In The Blink Of An Eye…

"It’s going to come as suddenly and inescapably as birth pangs to a pregnant woman"…. the Message
You may remember Steve Irwin from TV a few years back. He was better known as the "Crocodile Hunter". He died in a one in a trillion accident when a stingray attacked him and stuck a bard through his heart.
Steve qualified for his TV program as a herpetologist (The study of reptiles and amphibians) and was well trained in handling wild animals, reptiles and amphibians. We watched with great fascination as he tussled with huge crocodiles or picked up probably the most poisonous snake in the world in the black mamba — holding it by the tail.
Steve traveled the world looking for adventure — found it and filmed it — for all to see. He was a professional, the best at what he did and I suppose confidently expected to live a long life teaching his children and grandchildren to follow in his footsteps.
But in the blink of an eye — it was not to be!
For you and me it could be in a car accident, choke on a piece of steak or have some undetected abnormality that could bring the end of our time on earth. None of us can know the time of our death but it will surely come for it is appointed for us to die once.
An everyday preparation could be:
1. Have a real relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior.
2. Never leave the house without telling the ones you love that you love them.
Steve Irwin went to work one day filming what he loved to do. He didn’t know that in a blink of an eye he had an appointment in the middle of the day with his creator.
Prayer:Father help me be prepared for the blink of an eye at the appointed time to meet with you in glory. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
