66 Satellite
Posted by: | CommentsI'm a newbie to classic cars and recently purchased a 1966 Satellite -two door hardtop. Anybody know where to find 'retro' radio replacements? I thought there were suppliers that manufacture replica vintage radios but can't find anything for the Satellites.

Is there really a such thing as a correct date code?
Posted by: | CommentsMy question centers on show-judged cars. My car was built in June of '67. I'm fortunate to have some original parts where I can even make out the date codes. The coil has 436 on it meaning 43rd week of 1966. YearOne offers reproduction coil number 416 but then skips to 446 -go figure. Same kind of issue with my voltage regulator which has a different date code from the coil. Obviously, the date codes didn't match from the factory, so what difference would it make if I went with the 446 coil when mine was really 436 -it's not like anyone would know -right? At first, I got all excited when I saw that they offered date coded parts and for so many different week/year combinations. Then I was disappointed when I realized that they skipped some here and there.

73 roadrunner Fuel sending unit
Posted by: | CommentsFuel gauge goes all way over.
What is the voltage at the sending unit wire, it checks 12.5 steady volts.
I thought it should be 5.5 volts pulsating. Can someone answer this????

Brake Vacuum
Posted by: | CommentsHello, Gang:
It's been a while, and I've been enjoying my 69 Polara, but I've got an issue. I installed an electric vacuum pump because I had very little vacuum for the brakes. I was told this was because of the hi-rise intake manifold, the 4 barrel carb (stock was 2 barrel), and the cam shaft I had installed. The cam shaft was rated for "fuel economy" not "performance," so I don't think it was that big a change. Well, I don't like the vacuum pump; it's too loud and it shakes the whole damn car. I want to go back to stock--ditch the intake and the carb.
Question: How much of my problem was caused by the cam shaft? If I remember correctly, somebody here told me that the cam was the biggest culprit of the three. That makes me fear that ditching the carb and the hi-rise won't solve my problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have posted pics on their Facebook wall, because they won't answer any emails. If you are thinking about buying a rear 70 challenger bumper from them, have a look what I've posted, see what you think, and add your comments.
