Hoping to be able to get technical and emotional advice from you all.

First question I have is where do you get parts for these cars. I am used to working on A body GM, and parts are so readily available. Who are the best parts vendors?

Hoping for a fun experience!

Hey all,

New to the forum and admittedly a little lost. I got hooked on Mopar by a bud of mine about 6 years back. He took me to his hometown where his friends garage was full of Superbee's, Chargers, a couple cuda's and a clone superbird, Love a first sight! Ever Since then i have wanted to own one. I would hardly say that my 05' Dodge magnum is filling that gap. There is nothing wrong with the Wagon it's just to new and i find that older cars have more character. I have waited Six years to finally have my own, it's time. So I asked my friend how do I get started? he says "find a good forum and become familiar with what i am looking for". Well i have had my eye out for a 70' RR, i love the look of them and recently i got a ride in one I'm sold. so if anyone has any advice for me or knows where I can find a RR I would appreciate it. It doesn't have to be a #'s matching barn find, LOL. just needs to be in somewhat descent condition with potential. :D

Well finally got back to the states and came across a 37 plymouth coupe. I am looking to keep it in original condition except for the drivetrain. Now what i am looking for is a bigger engine but one that matches up to original or close to the mounts. Also a tranny and steering box. Anybody got suggestions? I have heard that a 360 matches very well but i just want more umph to it but not so much raodster go. Any help would be great.

Hello everyone, back to the world of mopar's, had a 1974 duster when I was 19 now I replaced it. Need's work yet, but I'm super excited. Floor's are better then most newer car's in this stupid state. Body just has some surface rust, new mexico car, no engine but has a 3 and 4 speed that came with it. Set up for a small block and has the 8 3/4" rear end. Factory sublime green paint, under alot of other paint. All in all A pretty good place to start.

New member here from Tacoma, WA. I just bought a 1967 Fury 1 wagon. Interesting car... it was built in Canada so I believe it has the poly 318. Should be fun trying to find parts :) I've had a number of old cars over the years and really love wagons. Looking to hang on to this one for awhile and will be doing some mild custom work.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself!

my name is erick and i'm addicted to mopars.:D

i have a 03 dodge neon (broken for now), 05 ram 1500 4.7, 08 avenger (wives), and recently got a 39 dodge pickup. i also got a 360 and an unknown auto tranny. i was told they were pulled from a duster. i've looked up a few things about the motor and decided to build a 408 stroker.

my first questions are is it easier to pick and choose parts or buy a kit? i wanna make it sit low but not really sure how to. how can i tell what tranny it is? lastly what size rear end and gears should i put under it?

also i wanna keep it as mopar as possible. thanks:)

I plan on restoring as I drive. Needs a bit of work, but I feel like I finally have a car that's worth putting the time and $$ into. Will post pics soon. Should be a fun driver/restoration project.

Hi, Im a chevy guy looking for a cuda or challenger. Not looking to flip a car or get one at 1/2 price. At the same time im not looking to pay more than market value. I like 70 71 challengers and cudas. Motor cu in not really important, coupe or convertible ok. I want a done car, or one that doesnt need much[needing paint ok] because I dont have the knowledge or time to hunt down parts . I am flexible on price as far as what im looking to spend. Like survivor type cars w small motors over restored cares w big motors. Very flexible. looking to buy something in the next few months, and help appreciated or if anyone can lend a dumb chevy guy some advice! thanks I have alot of chevy parts and cars to trade as well.

Hello all, new member here from Rochester, NY.

Just recently purchased my first classic Mopar (and first classic vehicle also), always been a diehard Mopar fan so I'm happy to be involved.

Vehicle is a 1963 Plymouth Fury with a slant 6 225, 4-speed manual. The engine was recently re-built prior to my purchase, although I don't know what it was re-built with...all I know is it has "high performance pistons and cam" aside from that I have no idea. The car will be delivered soon to my house so I will get a better idea once it arrives.

Any advice you all can give regarding the slant 6 motor? Things to watch out for, concerns? Any good websites or places where I can get parts for this motor and vehicle?

Eventually I plan to swap it with either a 383 or 360 but that's a long time from now, or possibly fab up a turbo kit for it. In any event, I know I will need a new tranny no matter what I decide to do.

Sorry for the long intro, glad to be here :)

Jeff

Hello, new to this forum and trying to get information and ideas. I have a 46 Desoto that someone put a 283/powerglide combo in. Yeah, I know. They also did a C-rap job. I've bought a used rv 440 and 727 transmission that I want to put in it. Over the years, I've seen a few old Mopars with big blocks. I thought that these were just interesting oddities and never delved into the finer things that it takes to do one of these. Now, I'm going to be doing one. Anyone got ideas for motor/transmission mounts, etc. and lots of things. If you know someone who has done one of these put them in touch with me. I would love to talk to them. Thanks, Bob

Hi' i'm new to this stuff so bare with me. I have a few old mopars 65 Belvedere with 440 and 4 speed also 64 fury convertible thats not done. My love is the belvedere. I'm looking for some info it's 3:90 gears and runs about 3200 rpms at 55. I'd like to put an overdrive in it. I looked at TKO 5 speeds but heard they don't like to shift over 6 grand not that I do it all the time but I do and if I'm going to spend $3000 on a trans it should do that. Also looked at gearvender about same price and I like the gear spliter. I have heard the 833-A is the best trans you can get. I would appreciate any info thak's
