2003 Hemi 1500

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
Maybe I could get a little imput from those who know?
My brother is looking at a 2003 Hemi 1500, as noted on the heading.
The truck is imaculate, even with 200K on the clock.
The truck appears to have been well cared for.
So. What would he expect for mileage?
Things to look out for?
Anyone with one of these able to add something?

Parasitic fan power loss

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
OK, While not specifically a Mopar only thing, how much power can be gained by moving an engine with a fan on a fan clutch to an electric fan?

I hear that removing the fan that has a fan clutch to an electric can can yield as much as 10Hp. I think for non-race applications this is over rated and an excuse to sell electric fans.

Is there any documented proof on non race applications that a cooling fan consumes that much power? Isn't that the purpose of the clutch on the fan to help reduce drag under the hood? Once again, I'm not talking about a fan that runs when the engine runs.

Thanks for whatever discussion ensues.....:yeah that:

Headlight relay?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
Hey guys...I just bought a '78 XE this winter, and I'm in the process of restoring it to a daily driver. Getting pretty close, but I've hit a pretty good stumbling point - the headlight relay is bad, and I'm having no luck finding one in stores or online. Does anyone here know where to find one or have one they'd be willing to part with?

COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment….

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
THEYR'E BACK....

COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America.
ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It's 8.2%.

COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?
ABBOTT: No, that's 18%

COSTELLO: You just said 8.2%.
ABBOTT: 8.2% Unemployed.

COSTELLO: Right 8.2% out of work.
ABBOTT: No, that's 18%.

COSTELLO: Okay, so it's 18% unemployed.
ABBOTT: No, that's 8.2%...

COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 8.2% or 18%?
ABBOTT: 8.2% are unemployed. 18% are out of work.

COSTELLO: IF you are out of work you are unemployed.
ABBOTT: No, you can't count the "Out of Work" as the unemployed. You have to look for work to be unemployed.

COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!
ABBOTT: No, you miss my point.

COSTELLO: What point?
ABBOTT: Someone who doesn't look for work, can't be counted with those who look for work. It wouldn't be fair.

COSTELLO: To who?
ABBOTT: The unemployed.

COSTELLO: But they are ALL out of work.
ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work... Those who are out of work stopped looking. They gave up. And, if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.

COSTELLO: So if you're off the unemployment roles, that would count as less unemployment?
ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!

COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don't look for work?
ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That's how you get to 8.2%. Otherwise it would be 18%. You don't want to read about 18% unemployment do ya?

COSTELLO: That would be frightening.
ABBOTT: Absolutely.

COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means they're two ways to bring down the unemployment number?
ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.

COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?
ABBOTT: Correct.

COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?
ABBOTT: Bingo.

COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to just stop looking for work.
ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like a Democrat.

COSTELLO: I don't even know what the hell I just said!

A Savior Who Understands?

We do not have a Savior who’s isolated in heaven with no idea what it feels like to have human struggles. No, our Lord left the glories of heaven behind and added humanity to His deity. He temporarily gave up the use of some of His attributes, applying them only as the Father directed Him.

Jesus understands precisely how we feel because He went through the same types of situations we do. Though details of our lives may not match His, the experiences and feelings are alike. Let's look at several examples of how He identifies with us:

*Misunderstanding: People constantly misunderstood His claims to be the Son of God.

*Rejection: He was unappreciated by the ones He came to love and die for.

*Pressure: Crowds surrounded Him, begging for help and demanding His attention.

*Exhaustion: He experienced all the weakness of humanity.

*Loneliness: At Gethsemane, when He needed human companionship the most, His closest friends fell asleep.

*Temptation: Satan hit Him with every imaginable type of attack and temptation.

*Hatred: Religious leaders despised Him.

*Injustice: Though Jesus lived a sinless life, He died a criminal’s death.

*Pain: He suffered the excruciating pain of scourging and crucifixion.

Whatever you’re going through right now, remember that Jesus knows how you feel and sympathizes with your pain and weakness. He may not remove the anguish or change your situation, but He’ll always give you the grace to resist temptation, endure suffering, and grow in spiritual maturity.
