Sure Real--well hes only 38 years old, its 4am, hes just drunk and its all his freaken fault. Instead of getting him medical assistance he gets a few broken ribs. I guess those medical alert chains you wear on your neck or wist aren't a bad idea have----even if your not a diabetic, lol ( i mean what if you were to have a stroke at 4am while driving in a know party area )

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A diabetic motorist and his wife have agreed to accept $292,500 from Henderson police and the state of Nevada to settle a federal civil rights, battery and negligence lawsuit stemming from his videotaped beating during a 2010 traffic stop.

"The video is disturbing to watch," said Adam Greene, who doesn't remember the beating by Henderson police and Nevada Highway Patrol troopers who thought he was driving under the influence.

"It's kind of surreal to watch yourself go through that," he said in an interview. "In this case, I think they let it get out of control and they acted inappropriately."

Greene, 38, a retail manager who was on the way to work at the time, was left with broken ribs, cuts and bruises after police and Highway Patrol troopers stopped him at 4 a.m. with guns drawn then realized his erratic driving was caused by diabetic shock, not intoxication.

"Police need to follow their training to recognize when someone is having a diabetic episode," said Greene's lawyer, Todd Moody, "You can't assume someone is under the influence."

The Henderson City Council approved a $158,500 settlement Tuesday with Greene. His wife, Brittany Greene, 33, received another $99,000, and the state agreed to pay $35,000.

Greene said he usually supports police and doesn't bear a grudge toward the officers.

Neither the police department nor the Highway Patrol admitted wrongdoing as part of the settlement, Moody said. The lawsuit was filed last September in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas.

A sergeant involved in the incident was disciplined, and police training and use-of-force policies were modified following an internal investigation, Police Chief Jutta Chambers said in a statement. Police did not identify the officer or specify his punishment.

Chambers characterized the incident as a catalyst for improvement in her department, which she said has cut use of force incidents by about 30 percent, from 567 in 2010 to 396 in 2011.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal first reported the settlement on Tuesday.

Lately in the Spokane area, an ex husband (allegedly) murdered his ex wife. The county has been playing games with the "news story" on WHY THE HELL they didn't get a deputy out there.

The woman called twice?? and could not talk.

First they gave us some BS about how the county calls back twice and IF THEY DON'T GET AN ANSWER "they do not respond?????????"

NOW tonight they have changed their story and claim "the dispatcher made a mistake"

LOOK FOLKS we freekin PAY a HELL of a lot of money via TAXES and FEES on our phone bills for this specific service. They now have ANI ALI number ID and location on land lines, and lat/ longitude on cell phones.

Late yesterday, I got a call from my son Aaron who is attending Texas A&M. He first assured me that he was OK, then said that some guy just ran a stop sign and drove his truck over the front end of Aaron's Dart Sport. Ever get that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach?

For those of you who don't know, Aaron and I spent about three and a half years completely restoring his '74 Dart Sport we found in a salvage yard when he was 14 years old. It was his first and only car, being his daily driver for the past six years. Having never done anything like it before, restoring and customizing his car was made so much easier by taking advantage of the wealth of knowledge found here on this site. Many of you have been instrumental in the success and enjoyment of the "Dartster" project (half Dart and half Duster).

Until we get the insurance companies to settle, we won't know the future of the ol' girl. I haven't seen the damage in person, so I don't have a good feel for how bad it is. I'll probably go down this weekend and haul it back home for closer inspection.

I've seen several of you over the years post similar stories about your horror stories. I always sympathized with you for your loss, but never expected to be one who it would happen to. Just goes to show you that no one is safe from idiots.

We'll keep you posted on the outcome. Drive safe everyone.

no its not about how i turned gay hahaha its how i turned a Mopar guy.
this is just something i was just thinking about and going thought my old pictures and saw the picture that turned me from Chevy or Mopar lol. were like 3 4 years ago before i got my first car(67 4dr valiant sign.) i was more die hard then John McClane about Chevys yea i know i was stupid. i always wanted a 67 Chevy nova ll. dark gray and black rims. yea that was my dream car. well when i was looking for my first car, my gram told me about my step pa's brother was selling a car for 800 bucks, so i asked her what is was. and she told me a 67 Plymouth Valiant. i was like what the freak is that hahaha. well i Googled it and this picture came up. it was a 68 but i feel in love with it more then the cute girl in my math class haha. she didn't tell me if it was a 2 or 4dr so i didn't know that yet but i was hoping it was a 2 dr because the picture oh Google was a blue 2dr with tan/brown inside. it was just sexy all together. were my gram finally told me that it was a "5door" haha she said the trunk was the fifth door lol. well so i was alittle sad but i then Googled 4drs lol and i saw this gray 4dr with tinted windows and i was like yea i can make the 4dr look as good as the 2dr. so i went and looked at the car. at first i said this thing is ugly haha but i needed a car and i knew i could make it nice. so i bought it and if was feb. when i bought it so yea i had to shovel 3feet of snow to get the car out lol but it was my first car and i wanted to drive it that day. so this is how i got into a mopar head :) oh and the last picture is was it looks like now :)

Vin stamp pad

I have a 69 340 block. Casting numbers show it as a 69 and it is stamped EW340 (also coded as 69) problem is I can not find any vin numbers on the block.
I thought they were supposed to be just off to the side next to the "EW340" but I can not see anything there.
Am I looking in the wrong place?

My dog needs a new home.

It's killing me to post this, but I have no choice.

My dog, Quigley, is in need of a new home. Quigley is an 80-lb. neutered male American Bulldog/Catahoula Cur mix. He's a great dog...He's fun, energetic, great at letting us know when someone is near the house, wonderful at consuming small critters that get into the back yard and generally an all-around good dog. The problem? He absolutely hates my girlfriend and will attack her if I'm not around. This didn't start until she moved in with me in early August of 2010.

A bit of back-story...I've had Quigley since July 2009. I moved into my first house in August of 2009. Quigley was six months old when I got him. Quigley and I lived in the house with no one else (except for a cat which joined us in February of 2010) until Amy, my girlfriend, moved in with me. Quigley had no problems with Amy until she moved in. In fact, Amy played with Quigley quite regularly when she would stay for the weekend or week, but once she moved in, things got ugly.

Now, the dog will destroy anything of hers he can get access to if we're not around to stop him. If I'm in another room with the door shut, the dog will go after Amy. He's bit her several times. It's a bad scene all around.

We have spent no small amount of time, effort and money to correct this behavior. We've had several animal-behavior specialists here, some of them repeatedly. We've consulted with the ASPCA's animal-behavior group. We've worked long and hard with the dog utilizing the advice and directions we'd been given. We've tried everything. :( Even the ASPCA has advised us that his behavior isn't going to change and that he probably needs to just go to another home.

I'm not looking for more advice on what to do. At this point, everything has been done. Quigley needs to go. I'd like to find him a new home. So...Do any of you want a dog? He'd probably be best with an owner that can handle a large, strong dog with lots of willpower and a very hard head. A single owner would probably be best. He's fine with cats and other dogs...He tends to be curious about the other pets, but not aggressive in the slightest. He is fine with everyone else he's ever encountered once introduced properly, except for Amy. I'm betting that if he goes into a home with a pre-established "pack order" he'll probably fall in line pretty fast. Families with large kids that could play with Quigley would probably also work. The dog is not aggressive towards small children, but he's so energetic that he tends to knock small children around a lot. Quigley is crate-trained; he spends his nights and cold or bad-weather days in his crate.

Quigley enjoys being petted or scratched, having his belly rubbed, being chased around the yard, wrestling around in the yard, blasting full-speed around the back yard with branches or logs in his mouth, chewing on (large) rawhide rolls (without knots at the ends; otherwise he just eats the knots and leaves the gooey rest behind), trips to the dog park and consuming squirrels. He understands basic commands (sit, stay, down, come, shake) but his "stay" duration is about fifteen seconds without constant reinforcement. He is a very attentive dog and loves to be in the same room with his people.

Please help. :( Quigley will end up at the local Humane Society shelter in the not-too-distant future if I can't find a home for him. We're located in Illinois and I'm happy to work with a prospective owner to get Quigley to a better home than he has now. Post here or send me a PM if you have any questions.

Here is my spec car i run at a local carpet track... owner told me anything body that is used or had been used in nascar can be run.. so i hunted down a superbird body and painted it and lettered it up.. Now i can run up front with this.

First time out with a new car I won both heats and the main by 2-3 laps and beat the track record. It only has gotten faster every week

This is a writeup that explains the beginning basics of the theories and possibilities.

I know, it,s boring crap that's not about cars but just in case anyone is interested.
Don't get discouraged if you have to go back and re read things over and over, cause when I started taking this up as sort of hobby I had to more times than I would like to tell ya.

Purpose of this Thesis

This thesis does not cover the mathematics of the space-time continuum and its characteristics. Other individuals in academia have covered the mathematics very well. The purpose of this thesis, therefore, is to provide a visualization of the characteristics of the space-time continuum and offer directions for future discovery.

A very simple definition: space and time considered together as one entity.
Mathematically: Einstein's field equation.
For simplicity's sake, this thesis uses the following definition for space-time continuum:
The space-time continuum is a collection of parametric specifications that attempt to define is. The specifications can be as single values and thus define a specific point in space-time, or they can be continuous and define an entire entity.
Curvature of Space-Time

It is well known that the space-time continuum is curved. The curvature occurs as a result of the influence of mass against movement in time. Recently, it has been possible to detect this curvature. As three-dimensional beings, we perceive time only as a result of memory. We remember what was as a variable interval from what is now. If we had zero memory, we could not detect time - we would exist only for the moment. The result of this is our apparent perception of time as a linear line, always going forward.
Example of linear time:

This is similar to primitive peoples perceiving the Earth as flat. It could be infinite - the horizon always kept bringing something new no matter how far they traveled; or, it could be finite, in which case there was the risk of falling off the edge.
Note: The terms three-dimensional, fourth-dimensional, and any other references to dimension in regards to "beings" means only that the being can directly perceive that many dimensions. A three-dimensional being cannot directly perceive the fourth dimension; the three-dimensional being can only infer its existence. The fourth dimensional being can directly perceive the fourth dimension. However, almost all objects exist in all dimensions.
Important: a dimension does not need to be detected to exist. If we had no memory of the interval we label as "time," our existence in space-time would still occur.
In its simplest form, a curve, extended infinitely, becomes a circle (or, better yet, a sphere). A sphere, when looked at microscopically without precision, would appear as a flat surface, just like primitive people perceived the Earth. Only when enough of the Earth was explored and technology was developed adequately could the true form of Earth be determined. The same holds true for three-dimensional beings trying to grasp the dimension of time. We need to perceive/detect the macroscopic view in order to determine form.
For the initial attempts at perceiving something outside of our normal senses, precision is not necessary. Einstein stated that space is finite but time is infinite. The problem here is that infinite is not calculable. We need to make it finite in order to progress. We can do this for time.
For practical purposes, time for any given object (such as a particle, an atom, a molecule, a person, a planet, a star, a galaxy, a universe) begins from that object's coming into existence and ends when that object ceases to exist in that form. (Never mind the fact that energy cannot be destroyed, only changed in form. We are dealing here in non-precision in order to get a finite value for the initial attempts.) If the object's existence in time was linear, the object's existence might appear to a fourth-dimensional being as a sphere. However, to the third-dimensional being, time seems like a straight line going on forever. Both are correct from their individual points of reference. A fourth-dimensional being could traverse this time continuum simply by going from point A to point B, because that being can perceive that dimension. The third-dimensional being cannot.
Note: in this thesis, the term being is used in a symbolic way to denote an object that is aware of condition and change in environment - whatever that environment may be. As we are dealing with different dimensions, assuming that the term being refers to the human or humanoid form could lead to erroneous conclusions.
Objects whose X, Y, Z axis change (objects in motion) do not exist in time linearly. You cannot change your position in the X, Y, and Z axis without also changing your position in T in a nonlinear fashion. A perceived fixed object (a stone lying on the ground, a building, a mountain) does move as a consequence of movements through space (Earth orbital, geologic, etc.) and the force moving the object through time. So, even perceived fixed objects move within the space-time continuum - there are no true stationary objects.
Could a stasis field cause an object to cease moving in space-time? Nature abhors lack of motion just as much as it abhors a vacuum. A perfect stasis field might be difficult to achieve. Maybe an object might have its movement through space-time retarded to a more or less degree, depending on the success of generating a stasis field around the object.
Because existence in time is nonlinear, assuming a perfect sphere as the form of an object's existence in the fourth dimension is not correct. More likely, the object's existence might be as an ever changing stream. The whole of space-time could then be considered as bundles of streams intertwining, bundling, dispersing out, merging in. Or, the form may be a cloud with voids and dense areas. Ultimately, space-time could have a recognizable form, once perceived on a large scale.
However, for nonprecision calculation purposes, the best analogy of an object's existence in space-time is as a ball of yarn gradually increasing in size. There is a beginning (the object's coming into existence). The object continues to exist nonlinearly - the windings of the yarn gradually making the ball larger. The point here is at any given moment in the object's existence, time is finite. Always in motion and always with infinite possibilities. Yet, nonetheless finite when we do not require precision. And, even though the possibilities for that object are infinite, the object seldom strays from a certain mean - thus the ball of yarn analogy. For example, consider repetitive motions (routines, cycles). These motions repeat, but never precisely - just like adjacent strands in the ball of yarn.
Coordinates

The problem of working out the fourth dimension (space-time) is that we have no reference point(s) and coordinate structure(s) for it. True navigation on the surface of the Earth was not possible until a coordinate system was worked out. However, to get started, this can be very simple (as in early attempts at navigation). For example, in early navigation, the reference point was where we were standing and the coordinates where relative to that point. This was adequate for the initial attempts at navigation, but is no longer adequate once you go beyond the horizon of the reference point. In early days, ships always stayed within sight of land. If they ever lost sight of land, the sailors were essentially lost - only able to find their way back by means of dead reckoning (the memory of Time, where T = a linear line). True global navigation was possible only when the following developed:

The shape of the surface of the Earth was determined to approximate a sphere.
A coordinate system was developed. The reference point for lines of longitude (X) was arbitrarily decided to be Greenwich, England, with increments arbitrarily set at degree, minute, and second intervals. The equator (a defined point, based on an imaginary line around the Earth, halfway between the geographical poles, where the surface of the planet is approximately parallel to the axis of rotation, with the assigned value of 0) became the reference point for lines of latitude (Y). However arbitrary these were, these coordinates enabled adequate navigation across the surface of the Earth. Later, an additional requirement of height (Z) became necessary. An arbitrary reference point of mean sea level was decided upon. Although the sea level does change, the mean is adequate for most navigation. Similarly, we do not need precision in our initial attempt to coordinate the fourth dimension. However, precision will be required, ultimately, in order to safely travel in time.

A coordinate system that might be used to get started is: Tx, Ty, Tz, X, Y, Z. This system appears to have some basis in String Theory.
We currently use arbitrary reference points for Tx. In western civilization, we use the Julian calendar, with the reference point being the so-called birth-of-Christ date of December 25, year 0. Although it is debatable as to accuracy of the named event, the otherwise usage of the date as the zero reference of the Julian calendar is acceptable (it's arbitrary, but fine as long as everyone agrees to it). The other calendars in usage (as the Chinese and the Jewish calendars) are perfectly acceptable as well (maybe even more so than the Julian calendar). A reference point needs to be made for Ty, which would be arbitrary. Then, we would need a Tz reference point. Any takers?
And, of course, the X, Y, Z could be our existing convention of longitude, latitude, and altitude reckoned from mean sea level.
For human beings, Tx is our linear perception of the passage of time. We ignore Ty and Tz, as we cannot perceive them directly. But, they exist nonetheless. Our passage through time can be equated to a balloon floating in the atmosphere. It always goes forward, no matter what real direction in reference to the Earth it is traveling.
Regardless, unless Tx, Ty, and Tz are entered into the coordinate system, X, Y, and Z are meaningless in the space-time continuum.
Unfortunately, Tx, Ty, Tz, X, Y, Z are a relative coordinate system. They may be minimally adequate to plot from point A to point B in space-time. But, for mapping of the dimension itself, absolute coordinates must be found. For our universe, the absolute coordinates might be derived from the instant of the initiation of the Big Bang, the moment of creation, or whatever other mechanism is discovered for the initiation of the current universe we occupy.
To navigate from point A to point B in space-time you will require not only the necessary coordinates of both points, but, you will also have to calculate the curvature of space-time between the two points.
Time Travel

If time travel is possible, shouldn't a time machine already exist?
The idea is that once the problems are worked out and a means/mechanism/machine/modus for time transport is devised, said machine should then exist for all time. Putting it another way, if someone calculates the level of improbability of such a machine, feeds this calculation into a computer connected to a nice cup of really hot tea and turns it on, the time machine is simply called into existence (as was the infinite improbability drive in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams). Well, there is a problem with this. We can perceive only X, Y, Z, and T (where T is apparently a linear straight line). Whereas, the time travel means/mechanism/machine/modus would exist at Tx, Ty, Tz, X, Y, Z. We can not directly perceive of that machine, just the same as a two-dimensional being cannot directly perceive a three-dimensional object. The machine could already exist. There are two discernable possibilities here:

The machine could be perceived only at the moment it deposits an object into our current point in the space-time continuum. As the machine would have the ability to change its location directly from point A to point B in the space-time continuum, the machine may not have a sequential existence within our journey in the space-time continuum (here today, gone tomorrow).
The machine may already have portals (entry ways, access methods) into our dimension. However, since we do not have the reference points for Tx, Ty, and Tz, we would not realize the true purpose of the portals even though we could be standing right in the vicinity of them. Thus, for all we know, the Pyramids of Egypt could be time portals and we would not realize this until we work out Tx, Ty, and Tz.

Perhaps the closest idea of what an initial time machine might be is described by Frank Herbert in his novel, "Dune." That is, passengers enter a cylinder. A "navigator," who has the ability to perceive the space-time continuum, folds space-time and thus the cylinder instantly travels vast distances, such as across the galaxy. The cylinder would hopefully shield the passengers from the temporary chaos of transitioning from one point to another point in the space-time continuum.
Ultimately, it may be discovered that a physical machine is not required for time travel - the modus being an integral part of our own being.
One final note before you time travel (or, go into and come out of stasis) - if you don't know exactly where you are and where you are going in the space-time continuum, you could end up being any where, any when. Three dimensions plus the time shown on a clock are not going to be sufficient to insure safe travel.
Suggested Time Travel Experiment

The first attempt at time travel might be accomplished in a very small and controlled way. A magnet placed on a superconductor cooled with liquid nitrogen will float above the surface of the superconductor when it reaches its critical temperature. After placing this apparatus in a vacuum, the magnet could then be made to jump a few femtoseconds into the future. The magnet is not directly in contact with solid matter and the brief interval would reduce the position error from imprecise calculations of the curvature of space-time. As the intent would be to skip the magnet ahead briefly into the future, this would avoid the occurrence of paradox.

Pick up the aluminum sheet in the bed and you find access to the oil pan cooler. It will hold 5-6 cans/bottles of your favorite refreshment and get them in right past security's nose.

I got a 69 barracuda with lower rear quarter rust.
Can not seem to locate a vendor that sells patch panels for 69 barracuda.
Does duster have the same lower quarter dementions and shape?
Anybody know of a vendor selling patch panels for barracuda?

This happened just north of me a few days ago. A semitrailer driver said his trailer overturned after he hit a small hill while pulling out of a parking lot on South Jardot Road Tuesday morning. Hit a small hill my big toe, he drove the trailer off in the ditch!!

Hey guys....I have an interesting question to pose to you:

I am planning to relocate out of Alabama during this year. I was born and raised here and have lived here my entire life, but I am ready to experience something else for a change. My extended family all live in TX, NM and AZ.

Being single, I have the luxury of picking anywhere to go. However, I thought I would get some advice from people who live in these different places.

My target area is the AZ/CA border east to West Texas, north to Utah and Colorado.

The car hobby is what I LOVE, so I really want to get into a place that offers:

1. Ready access to good pull-it-yourself junkyards
2. A good dragstrip
3. Most of all, an active car community where I can meet people and make new friends, go on cruises and swapmeets and that type of thing.

Here in Alabama it is almost non-existant. Aside from that in 40 years I've seen enough pine forests and mountains to last me forever, along with traffic lights at every corner.

I've been out to visit my family several times and fell in love with the wide open country, sparse traffic and dry air. I'm ready to go.

I'm not job bound, I can do anything so that's not a consideration.

I'd love to hear what you guys suggest, thanks!

Ok so we all know about Tony's wall and his signatures. Well there are many of us members up here in Canada who will probably never get to meet Tony and sign his wall. So in a case of drinking and thinking I thought of this:

Simply put get a board or really heavy cardboard and mail it across Canada to any Canadian FABO member who wants to do it and collect a few signatures and then finally mail to down to Tony for his wall!

I'll start it and then mail it off to a member who then can collect any signatures in their city, then they would mail it off to someone else, etc. The the last person in the line will mail it down to Tony.

So if you're Canadian and interested then post here along with your location and maybe if enough are interested we'll get this ball rolling!

Found out last friday (yes kind of late to the game on posting over here) thatI got accepted into the Porsche PTAP Program through school!

There is only a total of 12 students accepted into this class, out of 24 applicants, from across the COUNTRY from all the UTI schools!!!!

I'll have a guaranteed Porsche tech job when I complete the program in August. I start March 12th in Atlanta.

The last 1 1/2 years of hard work at school have paid off! Waking up every morning at 4:45 to get to class at 6, not missing ANY time! I graduated with a 4.0 and 100% (PERFECT) attendance!!

It's been 5 years and a few days since I joined this forum. I was a sophomore in high school at the time 15 years of age.

In those 5 years, I've seen alot change, seen alot of new members join on here, seen alot banned :laugh:

I've also learned alot. I do remember when i first joined up, There was MAYBE 10 active members. But then again it had also just started it's legs.

It's great to see what it's turned into. Alot more people are starting to frequent on this forum making a great knowledgeable hub full of info!

Am i the oldest member on here aside from 1 bad Mirada? :doh:

Lets hope there will be many more active members joining and hitting years like this!

I will be installing head gaskets on a ford ranger v-6 for a relative.

I honestly don't even know who's playing, don't care, and especially don't want to be caught dead watching another retarded half time show.

I'd probably be interested if the sport was more about the sport and not all the fluff, the primadonnas and the big money......it's way too friggin commercialized which is a big turn off.

I'd rather play it than watch it.

So, today I jump on craigslist and just listed today is a 6.1L Hemi shortblock out of a 2008 SRT8 Jeep w/44,000mi on it. Dude has it listed for $800 !!!
Is it worth this price tag?? My wife said I could get it if I wanted...just thought I stop here first and see what you guys and gals thought.
