Haven't been around for a bit, been concentrating on the Daytona TurboZ and the poor Doba has been sitting. It's been long enough my login was gone.

I haven't been fully ignoring the Doba, I've been gathering some parts to fix it up but been having trouble with the top. My car has the "fake convertable" top.

The top is getting ragged around the edges and I haven't found a replacement. I can get a custom shop to make one but they want $2500+. A t-top Mirada has come up locally that is getting parted because of frame rot. Has anybody tried swapping the t-top parts onto a non-t-top car? I would have the whole car to swap the parts and not have to worry about the original top.

Plus I love the t-tops in the Daytona.

Does anybody know of a source for the original top?

I have an 80 mirada cmx that i bought from my aunt when my uncle passed away.It has 79000 miles and sat in a building since 1994.I've went through the brakes and fuel system and it runs great.The quarter extensions were shot as usual so I bought a set from replica plastics,only to get dissappointed on what i got. I trial fitted them today and they are garbage,a half inch to short to the bottoms of the rockers,warped,cracked junk.Is this the olny options we have?thanks

We have decided to go with a 650 Holley to start. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-65-80457/ bought used.

After some long serious contemplation we are going to use the stock cam for now and have decided not to pull the engine. (for now...)

found an '80 volare/aspen ( can't tell no badging, no vin) in the local bone yard, just need to know if the '80 hood will fit and work for my '79 2dr, also are the trunk lids the same ?

also found a HOLY SHIZ rusted out doba, big block/ 727 4bbl car with sport mirrors,body is beyond a lost cause, suspension too, need to know if any one needs sport mirrors or BB parts ASAP !! I need a set of heads for my 400BB, and need to know if $85+tax is worth it for a set of heads ?
