radiator Trans cooler plugs

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on radiator Trans cooler plugs
Hello again, I was checking my radiator and it does not has the plugs for the trans cooler lines but I do have a small trans cooler with the lines going to the transmission which is not connected to anything, the lines go to the front of the radiator and are connected only to the small cooler. It was my idea that the cooler should go through the radiator or there is something I do not know.
It is a 22" wide radiator in my 69 charger. What am I missing here?

View attachment 974859 View attachment 974858 View attachment 974857 just started restoring a 66 Charger. Owned one in the early 70's and just found it in a salvage yard! But sadly to far gone. So found one with matching numbers. I bought a 67 for donor wheel wells and quarter panels. Got a long way to go!

Correct way to fill completely empty cooling system?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Correct way to fill completely empty cooling system?
I completely back flushed my 383 block, and heater core. And forward flushed the 26" radiator (was too inconvenient at the time to black flush it). Afterwards I blew block, heater core and radiator out with compressed air. So the system was dry, totally empty. I installed all hoses, and a new 180 degree thermostat, I did NOT leave the thermostat out.

I then filled the radiator, with 50/50 mix conventional green coolant, so that the level was 1.25" below the bottom of the radiator neck....

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Starter relay – 727 to tko500 – rewire question
hello all,

does anyone know if i need to change the starter relay when going from auto to manual?

my thought is that i can ground the connection that used to go between the relay and the neutral safety switch on the 727. would that work?

any feedback is appreciated.

thanks,

watermelon
