This is getting costly
Posted by: | CommentsHey Guys,
I have alittle problem that I could use some help with and there's no better place to go than here. put on your thinking caps, here we go. I've got a 366 on alky, brand new K-B carb,Edelbrock intake, schneider cam .530 int 288 dur, 13.2 comp,Icon pistons, stock la heads 202 160 ,kse tandam fuel pump,3psi idle 8.5 @ rpm, Mallory Unilite distriburter. in the intake we have installed a left right divider 3/8 of an inch off the bottom of the floor to the base of the carb. Now the problem, I keep burning the corner pistons, melting the spark plugs. all this happens with the temp at 160 to 180 degs. I'm lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the burn marks this time are showing signs of detenion so I'm leaning to an Ing problem. the dist is locked at 0 deg and the timing is set @ 33 degs. I have been told to go to a MSD set up to fix the problem, but I don't know anything about them or what to get part number wise.
Any thoughts on this would be a big help, or part numbers for MSD that is IMCA legal. I've been through 3 sets of pistons and 3 sleeves in this engine and it's getting very costly. if I've forgotten anything or you need more info let me know. Thanks in advance Guys.

High performance cluth
Posted by: | CommentsHey guys Im looking for a high perf. clutch and fly wheel if any one has one that they don't plan on using any more lying around. Bell housing too. Thinking about going with the manual 3 spd instead of the 904. The new car is set up for it so thought i'd go that way. Thanks!

Steering U-joint
Posted by: | CommentsI am going with a B-body approach this year. Couldn't go wrong with an already built car and all the extra parts for the price. I have been changing quite a bit of things for weight and safety. It has a stock steering column and I am cutting all that heavy stuff out to put in a 3/4 in rod and u-joint steering. On my other car (lebaron) i just made the stock splined piece that goes on the steering box work with a 3/4 in rod and a u-joint about 8 in up. But i want to use a u-joint there instead this year on the b-body. I have been trying to find a U-joint for the 36 spline sector. I have found a few on summit, jegs and a double joint on speedway. My question is did mopar steering box splines pretty much stay the same throughout the years? this one lists its for a e-body. But guessing like most things it will work with the B-Body sector.

Any advise?

Cool Kit Car Pics
Posted by: | CommentsThese are some Kit Car checkers from the 1980's at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio. We got the car back and are going to rebuild it to similar condition from the 1980's.

Track Aerial Photos
Posted by: | CommentsHere are the aerial photos of where I plan to race this summer. I can post these up for anybody that wants to see what the track looks like from the air. I won't swear that I will find them all quickly or get them posted immediately, but it is a pretty simple process and I will do my best. Some tracks are hard to find.
I plan to race at Black Hills Speedway and Dakota State Fair Speedway for the most part. I may try to take in a couple of other tracks as time/money permits.:king:

New track for 2012
Posted by: | CommentsLooks like my home track will be closed in 2012 only 30 miles away. So it looks like im off to the 1/2 mile Perris Auto speedway. Verrrrrry fast 1/2 mile 95 miles away. With another track also closing(asphalt)there should be 30 cars in my class. Thats good because 23cars race =1000 payday. Did I also mention that one race will be a road coarse!!! one rt hand turn for 25laps. Holey $hit batman can u say carnage!
