brake drum color

Hi

Aside from those few models that had parts of the brake drum painted red where it could be seen through the wheel slots, did Chrysler Corp. ever paint brake drums or were they just left to rust? Just curious, thanks.

Soft lines for ‘73 disc brake conversion? / What Steel Rims Work?

We are pretty much done with the brake lines up front !! Didn’t get the chance to take pics before I left, but they are where they need to be. Now the challenge is to find the right soft hose for the calipers. My New Yorker was originally a Drum / Drum…

Booster Woes

Suggestions needed for a quality new power break booster source. A local mechanic said AutoZone is good, another said Rock Auto is fine. I want a quality booster that will last.
Backstory: I sent the one off my 1970 New Yorker to the rebuild place in Washington, but they wanted $705.00!!! I’m not restoring the car, I’m building a driver. That price is too much for what the car warrants. The power break booster rebuild group in Washington said the two big reasons for the higher-than-normal…

That said, regardless of what’s at the wheel, I like the idea of a a dual…

Rookie Brake Question

As I’m starting to regain momentum on my neglected 68, I’ve shifted focus to (in my opinion) the most IMPORTANT system of them all – the braking system. I was lucky enough to score a set of 72 disc brakes for my car and they’ve been connected almost 2 …

The wanderer

I think it may be normal but my 67 Sport Fury needs constant feedback when driving AT 65MPH. I can let go of the steering wheel and it will track straight and true for over a mile, but once I once I put my hands back on the steering wheel and make a correction I have to counter steer it the other way . It is not really bad. It is like it doesn’t self center. I remember Chryslers having a super sensitive 1 finger steer. It is getting better or I am getting more used to it the more I…
