Cars I Almost Bought

The one that got away; there are always those cars that for whatever reason we considered, then dismissed. Sometimes we look back on those near misses and thank our lucky stars. Other times that hindsight results in feelings of regret.

I regret passing on the pristine AAR back in 1984, I didn't like the Deep Burnt Orange color so I couldn't justify spending $3500 on it.

I'm sad about the '70 Green Go convertible Superbee I didn't buy because it had a little rust on the quarterpanels.

I don't mind having passed on the '73 318 green Charger with a green interior, or the giant, gold Imperial with a gold interior although it did have a 440.

In the mid 90s I passed on a 4.0 Ford Ranger and a nice 4WD Comanche in favor of a more pedestrian 2.9L 2WD Ranger, the first and only vehicle I've had to take to the shop because of a lightening strike.

I regret buying a Plymouth Acclaim instead of a Stealth back in '91. Not that the Acclaim was a bad car, it wasn't even my first 4 door, but it had to be one of the most boring cars I've ever owned.

The last vehicle I regret not purchasing was a last year LHS, I bought a used Dakota instead because the deal was just too good to pass up.
