72 duster headliner questions

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
Its come time to recover or replace my headliner in my 72 duster. 70 to 71 dusters has bowed liners and 73 to 76 had like a board liner on the top only. My 72 has a board type headliner but covers the C pillars also (one year only). Option one- could I pull the board down and install a bowed liner? option two- buy some vinyl and recover the factory one. Im afraid of the board rotting under the vinyl and getting hot and peeling off. Option 3- for 260 bucks I can buy a new abs plastic one covered in vinyl. I have heard of abs plastic package trays warping and would be afraid of the headliner doing the same. Any ideas of suggestions?

Manual steering column.

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
I need a manual steering column for my 72 duster. I do have power steering. Does anybody know what columns will fit besides the obvious A bodies. Also could I just buy a collar off a manual column and replace my column shift collar? If so I would guess any mopar collar should do. Their is a 76 dodge pickup with a manual column in my local junk yard. That would be great if I could just buy it and swap collars.

I am curious to here any of your stories on great barn finds, derby rescues, found in fields or just plane great deals on mopars you have aquired, bought, and or rescued. As a few of you have read in another post I purchased a 1970 Dodge polara 4 door derby car for $300 sight unseen. When I showed up to pick it up I found a 1970 all original 49k miles 383 4bbl, 727, 8 3/4 rear end, Air conditioning equiped survivor. The car belonged to an elderly woman name elenore. It has had full floor mats, dash cap, and seat covers since new. Original paint, spare tire, trunk mat, radio, and hub caps just as new. So what are your stories of discovered mopar gold.

Just picked up a 70 polara need info

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
I ran into a guy the other day selling a 1970 dodge polara 4 door derby car. He said he was banned from the local derby and had to sell his car and to make an offer. He said the car ran and was a 383 factory 4bbl and auto trans. So instantly i thought 68 to 70 330hp 383 with 727 trans and 8 3/4 rear end. So I bought the car on the spot for $300 sight unseen. He gave me the address and I went to pick up my new beat up rusted boat of a car. When I showed up I found a 49k orig mile all original survivor. Original 383 and 727 with air conditioning. I have heard of old ladies passing and their low mile well optioned cars going for pennies but never ran into one for sale until now. Original spare in the trunk, seat covers from when it was purchased new dash cap preserving the dash, factory hub caps. The car reminds me of the police car packaged cars with 383 4bbl, auto, hubcaps. Its even green like all the 70 polara police cars I seen. I havent checked to see if it has a sure grip. I would like to know what you guys know and think about the car. As far as production numbers, or value or what ever info you all have.
