Looking to raise front end

Front suspension is an area where I know nothing. I’d like to raise the front end of my ’68 Fury 4-door. When we go over speed bumps everyone except the driver has to get out of the car or we bottom-out.
I LOVE the soft, swaying boat like handling. Don’t want to change that. I’ve read that you can adjust the torsion bars to raise the front end but as a result the ride is much stiffer. I prefer the soft, don’t feel any bump in the road ride.
Has anyone ever put a lift-kit…

Bad Timing Cover Bolts…

I recently replaced my timing chain and when I went to install the timing cover I realized my bolts all seemed too long- I’d had everything pulled apart for about a year before re-installing the cover again. Some of the bolt ends did look a little rough…

I was scrambling with the gasket sealer setting up on me trying to re-install the cover. All the bolts were bottoming out 1/2″-3/4″ before they hit anything! I started looking around in a panic and ended up throwing larger nuts and a…

Looking for a little help…

Well,
Two steps forward, three steps back!!

Had a very nice and fine trunk sheet metal replacement job done on my “68 Fury ll. No more dust sneaking through dust holes, all sealed up with a Rhino-liner type equivalent product. Thick metal. All good.

Only problem is when I tried to throw in the new gas tank I realized that there’s nobody home for the J-bolts to attach

Alternative Port for Aftermarket Temp. Gauge, 318?

I have a ’68 Fury II with a 2bbl 318. I have an aftermarket electric temperature gauge that I’d like to install and also keep the use of my existing gauge.

My water pump doesn’t seem to have an extra port like I’ve seen posted for some guys’ 383’s and I don’t see an obvious place on the intake.

Could we be talking a Cuba style jury rig? Add a metal nipple to one of the radiator hoses with a JB Welded threaded hole to accept the new gauge?

Any suggestions re. alternative mounting…

Need battery tray size, ’68 Fury

Sounds silly- why the $&#@ don’t you just go measure it?
The car is not with me and I’m going to visit it real soon w/ a new battery and need to know if it’ll fit.

Car is a 1968 Fury ll w/ 318.

Inside of tray dimensions would be great- ie 11″ x 7″…

Thanks!!

the bozo backwards battery blunder

I’m not even going to start to explain that it wasn’t actually me who hooked up my battery backwards (positive lead to ground and vica-versa) cuz there isn’t anyone who would actually believe that! Let’s just say it happened. There was initially a very wrong smelling stink followed by a mini James Bond smokescreen coming from the bulkhead connector. Ugly.
By the time we figured out what had happened I’m afraid the damage was done. This was roughly a year and a half ago and the car has…

Dont wanna burn up my car

I’ve been seeing off and on about an inherent problem with how the charging system runs too much current through the ammeter under certain conditions leading to a potential fire.
I followed a link to “Nacho’s’ “Some considerations about the charging and wiring upgrade…”
Wow. Lllllloooooooonnnnngggggg!! OMG. Too, so many typos, hard to follow.
Could someone dumb in down for me? Question is, can I keep the ammeter functioning (I like it and have a long history of staring at it while…
