Just installed and new sending unit because everything checked that it was bad. The fuel gage would go all way over when turn key on. Pull wire off sending and ground gage goes all way over. Gage ok. Unplug wire on unit and gage don’t move—-good gage ok. What is left–except voltage reducer…

Fuel gauge goes all way over.
What is the voltage at the sending unit wire, it checks 12.5 steady volts.
I thought it should be 5.5 volts pulsating. Can someone answer this????
