440 source stealth heads

Hey guys, a question just for those who are running these heads, what rocker set up are you using, mainly for road cars, what brand, what material rockers, steel or aluminium etc.
Anyone running stock rockers on the stealth heads with a mild cam?

Hey guys, whilst driving, going up the box is fine, put your foot to the floor and she’ll kick down but not at part throttle, say on a hill/incline, she’ll hold 3rd gear and not drop into 2nd:confused:
Any thoughts?

3rd member identification

Hey guys, second hit at this as I’ve found some more markings. I need to identify the 3rd member so I can get a new gear set(3.23 or 3.55 )
I know it’s a 8 3/4 rear end but the 3 common castings don’t seem to match what I have, I don’t have the usual 41 or 42 , can’t remember the 3rd one.
Please look at the photos ( yes oily and the wet is cleaning fluid ) does anyone know what the 3rd member is from the photos, cast numbers and the large 3 digits painted on, also the bottom is yellow ?…

Carb vacuum ports

Hi guys, carrying on from my PCV question the other day, this is my Holley and manifold – front and rear views.
On the rear I have been using the full manifold vacuum for the booster, the one blanked off, should this be for the PCV ?

Hey guy’s, whats your opinions / thoughts on running with crank case evacuation – PCV against just having a breather on both valve covers and the port blocked off on the carb :confused:

Are there pro’s and con’s ?

383 stock rocker shaft assembly question

Firstly, I hope you’ve all had a nice Christmas :thumbsup:

My question to you, should the pressed out stock steel rockers be a nice snug fit to the shaft, maybe a few thou clearance or so ?
I know all the aftermarket stuff is either bushed or needle bearing, so I guess the stock set up is similar in intention to have a smooth rocking motion but no real play ?

I’ve looked though the manual I have but not seeing any spec for ware or serviceable clearance ? have I over looked it ?
