Hello guys,

I noticed my 1970 Chrysler Newport with 383 engine and 2 barrel Carter BBD has always had a very minor hesitation/jerking upon a certain part throttle while usually cruising . I’d like to finally figure out if this is just a thing this particular engine carb combo does (I’ve heard this from another member) or if this is something I can resolve. Stock engine, original air cleaner in place, rebuilt carb, dual exhaust.

1970 Chrysler Newport Carter BBD Bogging Issue

Hey guys,

Over the winter I had the carburetor rebuilt on my 70 Newport for purely preventive measures. The car ran/drove perfect prior to the rebuild so I feel confident this issue I am about to describe is carburetor related.

On to my issue…….

I have been struggling to find a garage to store this in and cant stand seeing it stay outside under a cover so I decided to see if I can pass it along to someone who can give it a proper home. To rent a garage here in North NJ it averages about $200/month. My other 70 Newport coupe occupies the only garage space I have at my house. It isn’t going anywhere.
