What happened to LOWERED cars and trucks?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on What happened to LOWERED cars and trucks?
When I was just a few years into driving age, the popular trend was to lower your car or truck. I'm talking the early 80s when new cars were still slower than a well tuned 60s or 70s Muscle car. Lowering seemed to be a way to express yourself with a new car. I recall the Mini-Truck craze...Toyotas, Datsun/Nissans and Mitsubishi trucks bought fairly cheap and within a week of leaving the dealership, they were slammed and running 15x9 wheels and 195-50-15" tires. Sure, they rode terribly but...

Are the 383 and 440 rear oil seals the same?

Looking on the Rock Auto site, it lists the Fel Pro 40240 rear seal kit as the same for both series of engines. I thought the B series had smaller main bearings. I guess they shared rod journal sizes and rear mains too ?

Who sells a ’70 Charger VOLT gauge to replace the ammeter?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Who sells a ’70 Charger VOLT gauge to replace the ammeter?

I have a Hoover "Homeowner grade" carpet cleaner with 5 small brush wheels. It has 3 reservoirs. One each for soap, water and the...

Anyone here ever use Topline Johnson lifters?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Anyone here ever use Topline Johnson lifters?
Has anyone bought any of these lifters recently?
I am going with a Comp Hydraulic cam and while their lifters may be fine, I am interested in trying something else.
In 2006, I wiped 2 Comp Cams in my red car, back to back. This was before I knew about Zinc and Phosphorus levels. Since then, I have used a MP 509, a Lunati solid and the MP 528 solid. With the last 2, I used the Howards lifters with the EDM hole for direct oiling.
I'm building the original 383 for my other car and I want to...
