i am going to rebuild my rear end. it has a rumble or vibration when i get up to seventy mph. my question is how to check pinion bearing preload. do you put torque wrench on pinion nut and see when gears turn at that torque? i know its inch lbs. on torque 14-19 with new bearings and 6-9 old bearings. i just want to check before i disassemble. also simple way to check backlash with dial indicator. 489 case - sure grip - 323 gear - street car

I need to replace axle bearings on my 65 coronet. has anyone had problem with green bearing replacement? also any tips for removing old bearings and collars in front of bearing on axles.
