While I was building my Hemi Mirada 5 years ago, I had some friendly conversation here regarding my choice of RMS AlterKtion front suspension. Needless to say, there were a few “mixed reviews”, mostly relying on speculation, as nobody had installed this suspension in our cars. I promised I would post an update after I’d driven the car a while. So, five years and almost 20000 miles later, I am keeping my promise. I drive the shit out of that car every time I take it out. 3.9 L Mirada CMX

I just picked up a 98 Dakota low mileage 3.9 Magnum drivetrain to put in my son’s 81 CMX. I plan on using all of the electronics, etc. I’m thinking about a turbo setup or supercharger. Has anyone here boosted a 3.9 Magnum, and if so, what parts did you use? There don’t seem to be a lot of performance parts for these engines.

Not mine, saw on Craigslist.

A question for the slant six gurus

My son’s 81 Mirada was an original slant six car, but the previous owner somewhere along the line replaced the factory engine with a mid-sixties 170 slant six. The casting number, 2463230-2 seems to indicate post ’64 production. The stamping, EW170R 2869 0075 is a little more obscure. The W might indicate a warranty block, and the E might indicate 1967 production year, but that’s not my question. This engine runs very well, with an initial timing of 24 degrees BTDC and total mechanical…
