Buzzsaw sound?
Has anyone heard a buzzsaw sound before when trying to start their car? I changed over the intake and carb and was testing out the new firing. I had a couple of dry fires, then got it running pretty smoothly. Was running pretty hot right away so I shut it down. Started it a few minutes later and then a buzzsaw sound.
Oil is good, coolant is good, I didn’t know if this was a weak starter sound, a weak battery, or something like the engine eating itself
Replacing the 65 backup light switch is a pain in the ass
The little hex head bolt at the top left corner of the switch body (holding the top half of the bracket down) is a little bastard to reach
1/4″ wrench holding a tiny 1/4 drive 9mm socket was able to reach and work it out without taking the dash apart
I didn’t bother bolting it back down ha

Fuel pressure too high?
My fuel pressure gauge shoots right up to the max of 15psi when the engine is running.

Hmm, where do these holes go?
These half-circle holes in either side of the engine. They are still exposed with the intake installed.
If I lose a washer down one of these holes, how screwed am I?

Ignition coil placement
Has anyone here used a non-stock set of valve covers? Where do you prefer to re-home the coil? I’m wondering if it would work on the passenger side panel in the engine bay, using a longer spark cable and lengthening the wires.
Any thoughts, opinions, or photos would be appreciated.

Valve cover breathers, smaller than 1 inch??
I have a set of old Cal Custom valve covers, they are sweet.
Unluckily, they have a smaller than modern standard hole, 1″ diameter.
Are there any valve cover grommets that fit 1″ and valve cover breathers with PCV hose hookups that will fit this?
I can find plenty of 1-1/4″ and 1″ neck breathers, but I’ll need something smaller. Ideally with a smaller than 5/8″ hose connector. If you can point me to something like this in polished aluminum, stainless, or chrome I will send you a free gift…
