Hood Latch Issue

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Hood Latch Issue
I did a search in the forum for "hood latch issues" and came up with zilch. So I'm posting a new thread. I believe this may be a common problem with hood latches that have a lever under the dash. To pop the hood on my '79 LeBaron, I have to hold the lever in a pulled position and hammer the corner of the hood nearest the driver's door with the side of my fist. After a strike or 2 it pops. I suspect the cable has become stretched with age and needs replacing. Any thoughts? I have a '79...

My Ebay 360

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on My Ebay 360
Here's some pics of my 360 I stumbled across on ebay and won the bid at $500. It also came with an unattached 727. The 727 is talked about under "General M Body Discussions". The motor was listed as a 360. According to casting numbers it's a '74 360 block. I haven't torn the motor down yet because I wanted to gather resources (and cash). I have a stock 4bbl. intake that came off a motor home that I bought (also from ebay) about 3 years ago. I have pics of it also. Since taking the initial...

Strange Vibration

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Strange Vibration
Howdy (again)! When I get my '79 LeBaron out on the highway and I get up to 70 mph, I feel a cyclic vibration. The vibration is not constant. It runs in cycles. It would be like running over rumble strips every 200 feet. That's the best way I can describe it. At 65 mph there is no vibration. Since then I have replaced the front wheel bearings and front & rear u-joints but the vibration is still there without change. Any ideas as to what's causing this strange vibration?

727TF In A ’79 LB?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on 727TF In A ’79 LB?
Howdy Folks! It's been awhile since I posted anything but about a year ago I purchased a 360 off of ebay. The deal included an unattached 727 Torqueflite. Replacing the 318 lean burn in my '79 LeBaron with the 360 is a no-brainer but I'm not sure if the 727 would have enough clearance. I'm aware of crossmember and driveshaft mods but I don't know if the hump will have enough clearance for the 727. Does anybody know if it will fit?

Engine ID

Howdy Folks! It's been a while! I recently purchased a 360 engine and a 727 Torqueflite. I'm trying to verify my engine ID. I believe it to be a '73 360 regular fuel. I'm sure someone can tell me if this is correct. The number stamped below the left side front of the head is: 3W 360 R 4151.

Elusive P0441 Purge Fault ’02 Intrepid

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Elusive P0441 Purge Fault ’02 Intrepid
I've been dealing with a P0441 evap purge fault for a while on my '02 Intrepid. Long story short, I have the fuel tank out. I have the purge solenoid from under the hood out. I believe my actual issue is with the NVLDP (Natural Vacuum Leak Detection Pump) mounted on top of the canister which is mounted to the tank hence the tank removal. In my research I'm finding that for my car you cannot purchase the NVLDP by itself. You have to buy the canister/NVLDP as an assembly @ $240 from a dealership. If this was a '05 Dodge Ram 1500 ST I could buy just the NVLDP for $80 from the dealer. The thing is, the NVLDP for the truck looks like the same part that I've removed from the canister off my car. I'm curious if anyone knows if I can replace my NVLDP with the one from the truck? The part number for the truck version is 4891524AA. The number for the car is 4891387AB.

Anyone ever bought from this place?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Anyone ever bought from this place?
In looking for a conversion kit for getting rid of my lean burn ignition system, I've found a place called Chrysler-PartsCenter.com and I was wondering if anyone has ever dealt with them before. I have an 800 number for them that I can call on Monday. According to their website they claim to have conversion kit #P3690426 while, according to Summit and Jegs, the kit is discontinued. I would appreciate some input on this. Thanks guys!
