Cleaning the Floor

I was scraping and scrubbing and doing my thing to clean out the floor but I’m second guessing myself on a certain part. Are these areas also glue for the carpet or are they like holding the floor together? I kinda already started going at it...

Removing Rear Seat

66 Monaco 2Dr

Losing the front bench was easy enough on the Monaco, just 4 nuts under the floor. I can’t really figure it out for the rear though. I vaguely remember seeing Lucky Costa being able to lose the bottom cushion but keep the backrest in while doing carpet on his 66 Fury wagon. Can I do the same here?

On the part where the rear footwell slopes back up I see this bolt and nut. Is that the key?

Pitman Puller Fail

Spent too many hours grinding up a crap pitman puller from autozone to make it fit the large pitman arm on the 66 Monaco only for it to end up like this when using it. I’m putting in a new steering box, so I don’t mind damaging the splines/gears on the end of the box that go into the pitman arm. Any unorthodox methods you guys could suggest for forcing this arm out? I could also just remove them together or grind it out and buy a new arm, but those are $$$.

727 Fromt Clutch Spring Retainer

I skimped out on buying an actual clutch spring compressor and am using C clamps for compressing the springs under the retainer. While reassembling the front clutch I contorted the retainer pretty darn good. Should I attempt to install it again and hope the force from the springs will get it nice and square again or order a new one?

Pivot shaft nut replacement

I need a new one for the 66 Monaco's passenger side LCA. Can I just grab a castle nut at a hardware store or should I dig it out of a junkyard or is there a source for them online? I've seen pretty much nothing about it while googling, and dont know if theres anything special about the nut that makes it hard to get

LCA pivot shaft engagement

I'm wrapping up the suspension rebuild this evening on the Monaco for the 2nd or 3rd or however many times, and I think you guys know what's wrong in that picture. That ring obviously should go up to the subframe and then I can tighten down the pivot nut, but the LCA will not travel any farther forward. I read on some thread for a another body style on another site that it's possible to press the shaft in to the wrong length. I had a shop do my bushings bc I dont have a press. Do yall think...

Torsion Problem

I'm going through nearly all of the 66 Monacos front suspension AGAIN to replace the incorrect strut bushings I installed months ago. Clearly I had some problems installing the driver torsion bar back then because the cylinder around it is all bashed in, and I cant get the bar out. I've hit the thing with a chisel and I've kicked the shit out of the LCA to no avail, even with someone prying the top out. Anyone dealt with this and have suggestions?
