A. Any cast iron head. OEM Mopar only. Headers listed for Mopar are the only headers that can be used. If the header doesn’t fit head you are using, head is illegal.
B. No after market heads of any kind.
C. No valves larger than 2.04 intake or 1.70 exhaust.
D. Mopar can use the rocker arm bars. OEM only. No roller tips.

wondering if i can get away with a set of w2s??? afterall it is a mopar brand cast iron head

demo derby!!

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
well i'm gonna be running a 71?? or so chrysler imperial in a derby car, has a 440 in it, and im looking at what i can do to the engine, i've never done anything to a derby engine except change the timing chain, and put on some zoomies... i'm thinking, put on my eddy rpm intake, gonna run headers, probably a 750 holley, anybody know how good the dp 750s are as far as not flooding out on impact, i know the eddybrocks are excellent for not flooding but all i have in a eddy is a 600.. gonna put in my 4:56 gears.. now down to the point i'm wanting to keep this engine fairly cool, while i've still got the radiator, and keep it not boiling hot, exhaust pipes glowing red, once i lose the radiator, could methanol fuel help keep me cool?? or would the stock motor have enough compression to run alky?? also thinking about picking up a cheap 50 dollar cam to throw in it, kinda intimidate the competition with, and give better power, but is there a cheap cam with a duration that won't make the engine run hot?? or better yet, how to make the engine still run good while hot?? most big blocks i've ran in a derby start missing and lose power when they get hot, i know timing, and high octane fuel will help but that will also hurt me when the engine is cool, to where i've gotta run the car for 10mintues for the engine to get warmed up before i can run... or how about i don't run a radiator, i've done it on smallblocks, run the radiator hoses together, and run a couple heater cores inside the car with a fan on em... think that will keep the big block cool??

vp m5??

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
thinkin bout swapping to vp m5 in my dads' cuda, currently runs on the m1, running a 360 magnum, with iron r/t heads, .530 lift hyd roller cam, stock stroke mp forged crank, srp pistons, mp forged ibeam rods, 13:1 compression was running 10.5s on the motor with alot of blowby, looked at the heads and it didn't have valveseals installed, just had an o-ring on each valvestem, and really weak valvesprings, pressure tested the springs and they were about equivelent to stock, don't know if they got weak or if they were running stock, or not much over stock springs... we re-ringed the engine, gonna rebuild the carb, installed valveseals, new springs, gonna put on some wider tires to put more rubber on the ground, so it should pick up a little time... and thinking about running the m5 for the increase in power and the lesser fumes, what kind of timing/jet changes should be done to run the m5 if any?? jet up or down?? retard or advance on timing? what kind of et should be picked up with the new springs, new rings, and valve seals?? what should be expected with that plus the switch to m5??

would this pickup work??

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
i got a 6qt hemi/ 440-6 oil pan, and the pickup i have is the 1/2" but my 440 uses the standard size pickup, would the pickup off a mid60s 383 work??
this oil pan came with the dart i got a while back with the stroker, and remember me saying my stroker had a stock oil pan?? well the other night i was cleaning up in the shed, and was hanging up oil pans on the wall and i was hanging it next to a standard 4qt bb pan and noticed it looked bigger as far as from the front to back, and had built in baffles, so i looked around the net, and found what it was, and was like oh cool i never wouldve thought i have a hemi oil pan in my shed... so to eliminate the trouble of having to find an aftermarket high capacity oil pan to put my 440 in the dart, that won't drag the ground that will fit, i can use this one on the 440, i know it will fit, because the stroker fit when i sat it in the car, and the stroker had been tapped for the 1/2" size and is why i have the 1/2" hemi size pickup... what would it take to get my 440 tapped i know a guy that works at an industrial machine shop...
