Guys, I have read, and do agree, that max wedges are made to go full throttle, and anything less is spit and sputter. I want to be able to cruise around town and this Belv just wants to hammer down. If I get ready to sell her I could put her back as she is now, but for the time I will own her, just for show and go, I am thinking of a high rise single 850 cfm or so. She has 2 600 cfms now. Would a 2-4 manifold inline make a difference or are 2-4's hard to tame? Thanks for reading, and any help or ideas.

We went today to pickup our "new to us" '10 Challenger R/T. After finallizing the deal yesterday afternoon with the dealer over the phone, I thought about how I had pampered and babied the '05 Magnum R/T and how I should give it a proper send off as it was being traded in to the dealer. I grabbed my camera and took my gearhead son to a quiet backroad to say goodbye to the Magnum!

Would it be better to have 2:66>1:78; 1st > 2nd respectively or a 2:97>2:07; 1st > 2nd respectively? Is it better to have the gearing spread out for hard acceleration when your winding it up to the higher RPM's before shifting. I'm looking to be a street driver not a drag racer and I don't want a "granny" gear because I'm wanting to put the 4:11 Sure Grip back in but if I do, I'll need a tranny that can sustain higher speeds for a longer period of time. I thought about keeping the 3.55 open end in and if I did that, then a 5 speed would be fine. But it's too cool to say I have 4.11.....

Hi everyone. I love Mopars (then Fords) No Chevies. I have a 66 Dodge Coronet 500. Liked them ever since I moved into my first house and had to go to the window to see what was rattling all the glass. It was a 66 Vitamin C orange Hemi Coronet pulling into the neighbors driveway across the street. After raising the kids and being able to save a bit of money, I starting looking for one around 7 years ago. I found one that I liked 2 years ago in Indy. Not a Hemi but a built 440 (497 stroker) Black on White. It was an original 383 4 barrel car (came with orignial engine as well) I have a question that someone may be able to answer. The Coronet 500 and the 383 4 barrel call-out are both placed on top of each other towards the front fender. I have also seen factory photos that show it this way. Most cars I have seen, have the Coronet 500 at the front of the fender but the 383 four barrel call-out closer to the door towards the bottom of the fender. Is this somethng like early vers uction where they changed the location at some point?

Thx Lovescars36

Hey to all of the Mopar freaks on FBBO! Thanks to my Dad, I have been a MOPAR guy since day one. I have a '64 Belvedere HT - 440, TF, Dana. The motor is the same one my Dad and I put together 30 years ago when I was in high school. Still runs strong. I'm in the process of updating a few things. May be going racing with the son in law's '71 BB Swinger (soon after a "trip" for Uncle Sam). Hope to learn lots and see some cool rides on this site. Thanks for lettin' me in.

Thought this might be helpful to someone .As i was talking to my recently retired father about fixing the only car he ever purchased new and has been in the barn since the night i was born in 1973 after a 3 county car chase .He shot primer over the whole car the next day parked it under the shed with a tarp over it until now .Me and my brothers understood that car was off limits for dad had 2 other 69 roadrunners,3 69 chargers and two sport satellites which we still have.A few days ago i talked him into pulling the seats for the build sheet and the first sheet we found was not his .Next we pulled the upper back seat and there it was..bingo.Now i knew the color was r4 ,,,,THEN MY FATHER SAYS "WELL IF THATS WHAT YOU WANTED TO KNOW I STILL HAVE THE WINDOW STICKER"......He digs it out and along with it an unused MOTOR TREND car of the year sticker that came with it..Now how cool is that.:headbang:

Hey there,

I just found out i have to bore my 1977 440...so i'm looking for a good set of pistons, pistons and pins or pistons and pins and rods. If I have to punch the block out I'm not concerned with how much but i would like to keep my compression ratio as low as i can. I am gonna use a stock set of 452 heads & hp manifolds, a performer RPM intake w/ a Thermoquad 850.

Thanks in advance to all who contact me!!
Louis

Hey! From the rust belt in Maine! Hopelessly addicted to classic American iron. I'm the proud owner of one 74 Barracuda, 71 Superbee, 69 Charger. Engines are 360 (plan to turbo). 335 , 383s in the chargers. Almost done with the Bee. The 69 runs and drives. CUDA needs assembly paint and motor install. Always in need of parts. Look forward to cruising to Carlisle P.A. someday! GO MOPAR! p.s. My Grandpa had a 68 Coronet

I started the 73 Charger up yesterday and let it run for a awhile since it was "not to cold" out. It took a few cranks to get her going but I noticed it seems to start as I release the key to the run position. It seems that I can hold the ignition on all day and nothing but as soon as I realse it she starts and stays running.
Could P.O have messed up some wiring??? I can't see how this would work!

Hey guys wanted to say hi and how awesome i feel to stumble upon this forum. i have a 69 charger. been doing alot of upgrades and conversions over the years. been trying to make it to the power tour with it for 5 years now. most recently 2 years ago when i had an engine fire... still recovering from that. will try to get some pics up too.

made this for her. had made a custom steel mount for a GM alternator then said to hell with it made a one off billet accessory drive cause billet specialties and MARCH i think is WAYYY over priced

so i have a 08 GT and took it as a back up to the charger from the engine fire... but one good thing i got in the magizine!! :)

pic right after the fire. luckily i had a new bottle of coolant i was able to put the fire out with. will get some engine bay pics posted too soon

On the 1949 C***y I'm working on, body is now off the frame, the floors are shot, and I will find more shot metal after I media blast it. This is going to be interesting as it's so old, will not make this a big-deal here on our MOPAR forum, but, the same principles apply to our Mopars that are on C***y's. I've decided to hang the body (it's not a unibody) in an external skeleton then mount it to the rotisserie; this will pay big dividends in the process of blasting, metal work, welding, analysis, and eventual epoxy priming. Here's a pic of the body off the frame, this was a complete car when I got it; running and driving.

looking for my first b-body,maybe somebody can help me out.Wanting a 65 coronet 2door driver quality not a basket case or one that is all in pieces.Engine size doesnt matter as hope to change that at a latter date. Here is the tricky part,as I just bought another house my extra fundage is pretty low but I have a ton of stuff to trade if anyone is interested.3 jeep fc"s,various fox body mustangs and lots of high dollar parts for them, guns, nice snap on tool box, little bit of everything.I know Im asking for a miracle here but I have to try.If anybody is interested please pm me and I can send you some pics to any or all I got. Thanks

I think the one's with the raised arrow are fiberglass? Some are lift off and some bolt on?
