I think it needs more timing and some ignition upgrades. (Im just going by what my husband says for most of this so bear with me if I sound smart, LOL). As you can see we are attacking the rust before it attacks us. It's eventually going to be a dark red with a silver top that's why the goofy mismatch of primers.

Just finished my suspension rebuild, wow, lots of work. I was doing it at a friends place with a lift and a press, and air.

I cant imagine doing it on my back on a garage floor. Man, I am exausted.

took me about 15 hrs total. I bought the original kit, rubber, not Poly, had to bang out the lower bushings, not fun.

My left lower front bushing, the one with the extension through the crossmember, what ever its called, was completey shot, it was spinning in the bore. Left strut rod bushing was garbage too, wondered what that noise was when i hit the brakes, or a bump with the left side.

The upper ball joint that came with the kit was bad, wouldnt thread in, so i had to go get one from the parts store.

Everything else was retty straight forward, just got to get a alighnment, the steering feels way tighter, the car sounds different too, probably due to all the new cushioning.

Hey guys,
So I'm trying to decide what color to go with. I believe the engine was originally Hemi orange or some red, So i bought a can of Hemi orange and silver header paint. I sprayed those two along with some plum crazy purple on a piece of cardboard and I like the Silver/purple combo but I'm not sure if it's what i want. I like the orange because it stands out and i like to stand out lol but i'm not sure if the purple will pop enough. Ugh so yeah i can't decide lol and I'm looking for your guys opinions :) Oh btw the engine bay is painted black.

Thanks!!

I was shootin the $hit with my neighbor and thought, " we should have a meet and great car show later this month or early next month". I have a friend thats a DJ and another that has several party tents. Anyone interested? We'll get a couple grills goin with dogs and beverages and some tunes. Depending on the respose I get, it will be in my neighborhood, or local park. If I get a great response and I get some guys from the coronet registry, moparts and www.roseville moparts participating I can have a show at my buddies shop or Halmich park which is like a 1/2 mile straight drag. I'm just putting my feelers out right now, so tell me if any of you guys would be interested. All classics or modifieds would be welcome. I don't want to see any Neons unless it has 500 HP.

but I'm out of town... :(

After almost 4 years of sitting in the garage I'm very close to having my Belvedere back on the road. I dropped in my new 318 (76 block and heads, 0.020" over with Hughes Whiplash cam, Performer intake/carb) on Friday. Got a couple bolts through the trans, got the motor mounts bolted on, then had to get cleaned up and head to Texas till Monday. All I can think about is getting home, and getting my car running!

Hopefully my registration will be completed this week, and maybe, just maybe I can go cruising next weekend.

Hello everyone.... I hope someone can give me a few ideas in trying to fix the vibrations in my 340 before I loose my teeth driving to the next...

Hello everyone.... I hope someone can give me a few ideas in trying to fix the vibrations in my 340 before I loose my teeth driving to the next cruise night! I purchased a '72 340 for my 73 Roadrunner from a guy who said he rebuilt mopar engines for 30 years. The engine is freshly rebuilt with a forged crank. I installed the engine along with a new McLeud zero balance flywheel and new clutch. Problems started when I first started the engine, the lifters were LOUD and the engine vibrated big time! The guy who built the engine said this is normal! After about 100 miles, I couldn't take the lifter noise and upon further investigation, the rocker arms looked like they were incorrect (looks like big block rockers?). So i replaced the rocker arms from the 340 I removed from the car, lifter noise resolved and the engine seems a little smother, but I still have the vibrations that vary at different rpm's. So I removed the McLeud flywheel and replaced it with a stock neutral balance, still have vibrations. I removed the dampner and it did not look like the dampner on my 340? So I checked Galen's book and the number on my old 340 dampner is the correct one for a 340 forged crank engine, so i installed it and vibration still exists - but better. At least I can drive the car now and get the RPM's up to 4k without fear of destruction. Anyone have any ideas... Thanks!

I know its not a b body, but really cool. 1979 LIL RED EXPRESS- SURVIVOR. 81,000 Original mile truck. Shows its age well. This truck has the original numbers matching 360, and all original parts. It has been garaged since 1981, when not driven. Like new rubber, new alternator and starter. Only mod on this truck is that the original carburetor was removed, and replaced with the Holley Pro Jection fuel injection. It works very nice, especially on a cold start. No rust under truck or on exterior. What you see is what you get. You wont find a better Lil Red to drive or restore. Dont care where you live, drive it home $5800.00. Please call only 417 548 2017

Between the electric fans, AC, CDI ignition and everything else I managed to fry a 65amp alternator (gotta love those lifetime warranties) so I'm stepping up to a 100amp unit. One of the field connections on the new alternator is a stud so obviously I'm going to have to change a terminal but, before I do anything I have two questions:
1) Does it matter which field wire I switch ends on?
2) Are there any other changes I'll need to make?

I suspect the answer two both questions is no but better safe that sorry.

Hey guys,

i have a 360 roller motor that i picked up and would like to build as cheaply as possible, thinking that i could reuse the stock cast crank, Eagle SIR rods (on sale at mancini for 99 bucks!) and some forged pistons to get the compression up as well as be able to take some spray in the late future...in all this though, i would really like to get everything internal balanced in case i ever decide to change to an aluminum flywheel, plus my current flywheel is internal balance as well

my question is, would getting the external cast crank balanced to internal require so much mallory metal that im just better off cost wise to buy a brand new internal balance crank? i know mallory metal is expensive, so if it doesnt make sense to do it, i would just buy a new crank...in fact, if im going to buy a new crank, a stroker may be an option, although im not sure if i would need different rods or what the piston selection would be like for the compression ratio id like to achieve...

anyways, before i get even more away from the original question, please share your opinions on this...i know every machine shop charges differently, but im just trying to get a rough idea

thanks!

I am selling or trading my race car. Selling as a roller as the engine spun a bearing before being put away. Specs are as follows.

Square tube chassis car.
Dana 60 rear end with 4.88 gears.
fiberglass hood, and removable lightened front clip.
all aluminum interior, including seat. removable steering wheel.
lexan windows all the way around
Will fit a larger driver, as I am 6' and 320#'s if I fit, you will
The brakes are aerospace disc all the way around, less than 100 passes, and aluminum wilewood master cylinder
Race prepped chrysler 727 with a tranzact trans-brake freshend last season.
All the transtunnel comes out for ease of working on things.
Biondo Mega 200 delay box
msd 6-al
switch panel
fuel cell is mounted up front, and has a belt driven enderle pump
aluminum radiator and electric fan.
motor, although not working, has some great parts. CSR water pump, aluminum valve covers, alcohol carb, steel heads that have been worked, square pan for a tube chassis car
new hoosier front tires last season, rear goodyears 32x14.5x15 also new last year. might have 30 passes on them

Car ran 6.50 in good air 1/8th mile. It runs straight. Body is ok. This has way more than the typical roller. With a little motor repair you could be racing. With some tlc it could be a really sharp car.
I love this car, but with a family it is hard to go race. I will sell the car, so make me an offer. Or I would trade it for a decent street car. I am not looking for a huge project, so please dont offer that, but I will consider just about anything.

If you would like to talk give me a call at 615-351-2801 Thanks for looking Josh

Okay so here is the deal, Im shopping around for my next project and it was down to a 70 Dart Swinger, a 71 Plymouth Duster (Both have already been sold!) and a 70 Barracuda Gran Coupe (Out of price range)

BUT now two of my buddies have decided to part with their "projects" which are a 1976 Plymouth Duster and a 1969 Dart GTS.. A couple details:

The 76 Duster has very little rust and hardly any dings, Orig. /6 auto car. Interior is pretty rough and almost everything will have to be bought or redone (inside wise). Also the /6 and auto would not stay in the car, neither would the front valance or rear panel (Demon clone in mind). With that said a fair amount of money would be put into this car, the good news is he only wants 300 for it.

Now for the Dart. Another orig. /6 Column shift car (without the /6 in it btw) No rust what so ever, some very minor body work in the pass side front fender and door (new door included though) all chrome is in great shape and looks amazing. AND he has already purchased all window gaskets, rear window, new interior parts i.e. seat covers, door panels, head liner, carpet etc. Basically what im looking at for the dart is a engine, tranny, rear end, paint and front windshield. This car is in great shape and he has multiple parts for this car, 3 sets of headlight/front valance trim, 3 sets of taillights and rear valance trim, multiple dash clusters & pads.. I wont list everything because this is already getting long! He wants 2500 for this car and everything he has to go with it..

I really love the Duster (Demons) but am finding it really hard to pass up the Dart deal.. and I am starting to fall in love with these cars! Help me out! :-D
