Pls Help: Upper Ball Joint Too High?? 77 New Yorker

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Pls Help: Upper Ball Joint Too High?? 77 New Yorker
Hello Guys,
My dad and I have been doing some suspension work over the past couple weeks, and today, we were reinstalling the upper control arm after pressing in a new upper ball joint. We have the upper control arm back in and aligned, but the knuckle is too low to put in the thread of the upper ball joint. We tried jacking up the lower control arm, which the knuckle is attached to, but the whole car just came up off the jack stands. My question is: what do I do to raise the knuckle so...

1977 440 Redline?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on 1977 440 Redline?
Hey guys,
Does anyone know what the redline or max revs in a 1977 440 V8 is? I am looking at buying a new carb and replacing the Lean Burn, and I read somewhere that the redline was 3600, but that seems way too low to me.
Thanks,

How many New Yorker’s Left?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on How many New Yorker’s Left?
Good Afternoon,
I was talking about my car with my grandparents the other day, and they posed the question to me: How many New Yorkers, especially the 77's, are left? I know that 45,252 four doors were built and 16,875 two doors, which means that, in total, 62,127 New Yorkers were built for the 1977 model year. Does anyone have any estimates on how many are left? I know of 3, including my own, in the state of Virginia, but I am sure there are way more out there.
Thanks,

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on 77 New Yorker PT7 Paint Restoration
Good Morning,
This weekend, my dad and I tried to wash the New Yorker, along with giving it a polish and wax. The car appears to have the PT7 Coffee Sunfire Metallic paint. The wash went well, and the trunk and hood seals performed well. However, we tried the Meguire's polish and we noticed that the applicator was coming back brown, so we only did that in a small test area behind the front wheel, since we were worried that it would strip the paint off. Then, we applied the Meguire's Wax...
