I’m trying to figure out my ignition. The ignition turned over but there was no spark so I looked for loose wire. I connected these two random wires that look that they might go together and tried turning over and it didn’t work. This time it didn’t even turn over or click or anything. 74 Road Runner with a 360 that won’t crank over with the key. I can jump the contacts on the starter relay and it will crank. I ran a jumper from batt neg to NSS terminal on starter relay and still no start. This tells me that the NSS is not the issue. I measured voltage at the yellow wire while key in start position and I get 10.8v. If I jump 12 volts to the relay then it cranks. So I know that the relay works and my issue is from low voltage on that yellow wire.

I have a 74 Road Runner with rallye gauges and the brake warning light is just hanging out behind the dash not plugged into any socket. Where is supposed to be plugged into? I don’t see a spot for it?

Mine also has a blue rubber sleeve over the brake warning bulb, is that factory?

I have a 74 Road Runner and I only have 10V to the starter relay coil when the key is in start position (which isn’t enough to trigger the relay). I traced it back and it looks like this connector is probably my issue. It’s burnt up and melted.

I found the ignition switch harness with the connector but now I need the other connector to splice in. Does anyone know where to get this connector and the pins that go with it?

Ignition switch harness connector

I have a 74 roadrunner with a 5.9 mag in it and I’ve noticed that it sometimes takes a couple key turns back and forth to get the starter to fire. It’s been getting worse and worse, and now it doesnt start. Starter is new about 5 months ago. So I’m thinking it’s the ignition switch or wiring to the switch. When I put my remote starter on and leave the key in run, it fires right up every time. Does this mean it’s the ignition switch?

I have a 74 Road runner that currently has 205/70/r14 and 245/60r14 tires on crager wheels. The tires are getting old and they also look tiny in the wheel well so I want to upgrade to something bigger. When I bought the car it came with a set of 15″ rallye wheels (perhaps original?) that I’m going to use. Fronts are 6.5″, rears are 7″.
