Slant Six overheat at cruise speed, especially going uphill
Posted by: | CommentsHi
It was about 90F today and took the Dart for a trip outta town. After about 25miles of driving the temp started climbing, first to about 2/3 then when it reached 3/4 mark while on a hilly section, i stopped at a rest area and let it cool down.
What can cause this? Ignition timing not set properly?
I understand if its overheating while stuck in traffic but going 70mph on the highway?
Would radiator shroud help?
Thanks
Syed

What color for my ’66 Dart RHD Dash
Posted by: | CommentsHi.
Prior to restoration, the dash was silver with chrome surround (faded and looked more like gold in the picture). This was when the interior was "oceans of black".

Now that the interior is mix beige/tan seats and doorcards with a white exterior, I was wondering what color should I paint the dashcover. I cant find a decent place around here that would do chrome on plastics - there was one but he wanted $250 bucks!! I tried silver paint but looked fugly... i.e. not the same as chrome.

Some Valiant VCs in Australia (which has the same Dash as my RHD Dart) had all white dashcover

I was thinkin' either painting the whole thing beige/tan following the theme of the interior, or all white (like the exterior) with some black lining around the perimeter.
Hmm... decisions... decisions...

Would anyone be interested in my ’66 Valiant Steering Wheel?
Posted by: | CommentsHere you go:

The rim itself is good with no crack. The horn ring is good too (just need a good polish). The problem, as you can see, is at the base of the spokes where its broken on both sides.
Open to any reasonably offer. 40 bucks? The horn ring itself may cost more hehe.
PS: Someone else already inquired, so he is 1st in line, if deal falls thru, this item is open for sale.

Door lock not workin’ on my ’66 Dart
Posted by: | CommentsHi all
Its been over a year since I removed the door lock mechanism on my '66 Dart Vert. Now I cant remember how to fit it back.
Is there supposed to be a small spring connecting the barrel to the door lock mechanism? Or is it just a plain metal wire? Any idea how it should be connected? Pictures would be G R E A TTTT!!!
Im getting frustrated as the car is just about ready but I cant lock the door!
When i twist the key it will only turn one way - so if i lock it manual by pressing the locking knob from the inside, I can then use the key to unlock. But then the key wont turn the other way to LOCK! Help!!
Im sure im missing something here. Help!
