7 1/4 swap out help

Hey guys. I've got a few updates about the 68 Coronet. I've got the engine to where I can work on it, and I've bolted down the valley pan and intake, I've got the K-frame and I'm working on getting the drive shaft. The carb's setting on top of it, as well. It's a big block 383 engine, for those of you who don't know...and my only problem is...well...the rearend.

It's a 7 1/4. I've read about ten billion dozen posts and have researched it thoroughly and I know that you can swap 7 1/4 rear ends out for 8.25, 8.75 or Dana 60's. But I was also curious...are there any other model rear ends that might fit with little to no modification? As in, shortening the axles, positioning them on the leaf springs and such. I'm trying to get an idea of what I should do. If I need to, I'll just scrounge around and see if my Uncle has the rear-end that I need. But if there are other rear-ends out there that will work...well...I was just curious. I'm not too technical minded, and I don't have loads of information available in my head to figure this out, so I thought I'd ask.

What, of any, other rear-ends will fit over in a 1968 Dodge Coronet, 383?

I really appreciate it, guys.:icon_pirat:
