65′ Coronet K-member
ByIs there a difference in the small block and the big block motor mounts on the K-member? I am installing my 440 and the engine sits a little cockeyed when installed. I took it back out and inspected the ones on the member. The drivers side one looks like it has been welded in by a hacker. The welds on the pass side look factory but the dr. side have hugh globs of welds all over it. So I was wondering if the big block dr. side factory mount was diff. from the small block mount.
I know these days they have easy engine swap mounts but was thinking back in the early ninetys you basically had to fab in the mounts. I think the people I bought it from didn’t put the dr. side mount in perfectly square. I have always had trouble getting the stock trans crossmember to line up in this car. Now I think I have found out why.
I am putting in elephant ears to replace the motor mounts but would like to know if this is why my motor is sitting like this or this is factory. I know the motor is off center in the engine bay but I am talking about it being cockeyed. How do I know when the engine is straight and inline with the drive line?
